ART and food… we love the sophisticated combination.
Somerset House will be hosting a one-of-a-kind exhibition based on chef and global gastronomy icon, Ferran Adrià and his former restaurant elBulli.
The exhibition will show the art of cuisine and cuisine as an art, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the kitchen and laboratory of the restaurant.
The internationally renowned restaurant sits on the Catalan coast near roses and has been serving food for over 50 years.
The exhibition will show the change and progress of the elBulli over the last 50 years with display of the key ingredients that have made Ferran and his team a success alongside archived footage of the chefs and clientele elBulli has seen over the years.
Ferran said: “Even though the restaurant of elBulli is now closed, the spirit of elBulli is still very much alive and this exhibition is one of the ways of keeping it so.
“Overall, it is an ode to the creativity, imagination, innovation, talent and teamwork of everyone at elBulli.”
On the opening night, July 5th, Ferran will discuss the afterlife of his restaurant and his current projects.
The shows will take place at Somerset House between July 5th and September 29th and tickets are priced at £25.
