IT’S the first official week back to work, the constant rain is proving RUINOUS for the new boots we bought in the sales, and the temperature outside is very unforgiving.
So let’s stop looking out the office window for a second, and open up a browser window instead and start researching a holiday online.
If you are looking for a beach holiday on a budget, try snapping up a bargain on Secret Escapes. They offer plush stays both locally and abroad and offer hefty discounts. They have an offer for 10 night’s stay at a resort in Cancun, Mexico for just £1379 per person. The weather in May isn’t as stunning as it is right now, but it’s still a balmy 27-31 degrees. Lush!
For a staycation (aka a vacation without leaving the country) try the selection of hotels in London from Thinkhotels.com. It won’t break the bank and if you sip a pina colada, ordered by room service, from the luxury of your bed then it’s bound to have the same euphoria. We love the quirky grandeur of The Milestone Hotel. It’ll set you back about £400 a night, but there are plenty of more budget-friendly options available on the site.
A trip to the sunny climes of Majorca can prove the perfect break, and we love the look of this boutique hotel which is opening on April 1. Hotel Son Ametler has everything that you need – the service of a hotel with the feel of staying in your own farmhouse. It has a stunning pool, evening bar and private terrace that overlooks mountains and fields. A cheap flight can get your to Palma (35 mins drive away) for £200 and a double room at the Hotel will only set you back between £110-145 per night (based on two people sharing).
Portugal is only a short flight away, and if you have a gang of friends who you’d like to take a trip with, the plush surrounding of Villa San Sebastio look positively luxurious. Initially it may seem expensive to rent at around £5000 for a week… but it’s a six bedroom property, so when you divide that rate between a possible twelve people… that’s less than £500 each! Bargain!
