TAKE a trip back in time to vintage New Orleans at Storyville, brought to Londoners by the team behind speakeasy cocktail bar Nightjar.
The owners of the cocktail den have teamed up with with Krankbrother to present a night of fine music, drinks and dancing inspired by the home of jazz.
Jelly Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong both refined their musical trade in the district of licensed pleasure houses of the Fin desiècle French Quarter, on the corner of Basin Street, otherwise known as Storyville.
Nightjar’s regular musicians Hugo Simmonds, The Basin Street Brawlers, Brass Volcanoes and Dom and the Ikos, with support from Monkey Stomp Blues, will lead guests on a musical journey from early Ragtime and brass band numbers to the stomping sounds of Professor Longhair and Fats Waller.
Saturday 11 August
Factory 7, 13 Hearn Street, EC2A 3LS
Tickets: £15-30: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/3854976338
